Community News

New District Administrator

Congratulations to Scott Graham, our new District Administrator! Scott has worked with the District for 15 years, beginning as the Recreation Superintendent in 2008, and most recently serving as Parks and Facilities Superintendent since 2015. We are excited about the wide range of experience Scott brings to his new role, and look forward to his work in continuing to serve the community of North Highlands.

North Highlands Narrative

“North Highlands Narrative” is a citizen award program sponsored by the North Highlands Recreation and Park District. Its purpose is to shine light on our everyday citizens and local organizations that make a positive impact within the community through acts of service or events.

On a quarterly basis awards are given to citizens or community groups residing within NHRPD’s District for their outstanding contributions to the community. Please consider taking the time to recognize and nominate an individual or group whose contributions make North Highlands a better place to live.

Know someone you can nominate? Visit our website at www.nhrpd.org/north-highlands-narrative to fill out the Nomination Form today! Deadline to submit for the Winter 2023 season is October 16th.

Freedom Park Pavilion Rentals

Freedom Park Pavilion rentals are available to reserve! This location is excellent for a birthday party, family reunion, company picnic, or any social event that calls for some fun in the park. For further information, and to reserve a pavilion, please check out our website: www.nhrpd.org/freedom-park-pavilion-rentals

Please note that October is the last month that pavilions are available for reservation. From November - February, Freedom Park pavilions run on a first-come, first-served basis. Pavilion rentals will begin again the first weekend of March 2024.

Please note that the bathroom facilities hours have been updated. Bathrooms are now open between 9:00am - 8:00pm daily, now through November 5th.

Splash Pad Closed for the Season

The Splash Pad will be turned off beginning October 1st. Splash Pad operating hours will resume the first weekend in May 2024.

Splash Pad operation days and times are subject to change based upon water restrictions set by the state, county, and/or city, or repairs/damages.
