Community News

Planehaven Park

Planehaven Park broke ground in February and is on track for completion. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, the park's redesign—featuring new amenities—was shaped by input from local neighbors. Stay tuned for a grand re-opening event scheduled for early Summer

Paint the Parks

The 7th Paint the Parks project at Strizek Park was completed on March 26th. We painted the benches and trash cans. Additionally, we added some fun art to the concrete in the form of a hop scotch game. A little touch of a music theme makes for an amazing look. Check out the updates at Strizek! Be sure to check out our completed projects here!

NHRPD is honored to receive the Community & Recreation Program Award from the California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) District 2 for our Paint the Parks program! A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and sponsors for making this achievement possible!

If you would like to volunteer, please fill out this Volunteer Form. We are also accepting paint supply donations! Feel free to bring them by the front office before our next project!

Mural at Ruth Inman

The newest mural was completed at Ruth Inman Park! It is one of the first things you see as you enter our community. Showing the community and connections we all have with one another. Multiple North Highlands residents were able to leave their mark on the mural! Please take the time to take a look at the updates in Ruth Inman Park!

Community signs and mural saying "We Love North Highlands" with various local organization logos on a roadside.
May contain: car, transportation, vehicle, truck, architecture, building, wall, grass, and plant
