| Sierra Creek
Park:
Located on Watt Avenue by Davidson Drive (near Elverta
Rd), this 7.5 acre park is mixed developed and undeveloped.
One acre is improved with turf, irrigation and trees; the
remaining 6.5 acres is a treasure of open space and nature
area through which the Sierra Creek gently meanders. Sierra
Creek is free flowing 9 months of the year, and is part of an
ecosystem rich in wetland-type plants such as cattails, and an
intriguing aquatic and amphibian community in the creek bed.
This natural habitat is considered a wonderful and rare
natural resource, and has been left undisturbed by the
District.
The District received a grant for partial development of
the front part of this park. Funding sources for improving the
balance of the park have not been available for park
completion. This park site is immediately adjacent to Spinelli
Elementary School.
