Park:
Located next to Ridgepoint Elementary School, 4680
Monument Dr., This facility was a joint development with the
Rio Linda School District. After school hours the Park
District operates the gymnasium/cafeteria/rec center. Numerous
classes and activities are held in this facility as well as
the daily “Racoon Club” program (a before and after school
recreation program). Outside is the park area, six acres of
open space turf with: 2 softball fields, 1 preschool
playground and a full basketball court.
The Park District and School District won an award from the
California Park & Recreation Society for creative design
and innovation in facility development. This is a very unique
facility as is the joint use agreement. Ultimately the
community residents benefited because they received a school
and a community
center.
