Message to Our Community

Cherry Blossom ParkThe North Highlands Recreation and Park District has a vision of creating an ideal community through people, parks and programs. We invite you to take a few minutes to review our guide for programs, services and parks offered in spring and summer 2019. I think you’ll find there is something for everyone!

On March 14, 2019, the North Highlands Recreation and Park District’s Board of Directors will hold a ceremony to officially name the community center after long time District employee and Administrator Kay F. Dahill. Many in the community know Kay from her 41 years of service to the district. Please join us as we celebrate Kay. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. and will be held at the community center located at 6040 Watt Avenue.

I also recommend that you visit Freedom Park on Saturday, May 18 for the District’s Movie In-The-Park event. We anticipate the movie starting right around 8:00 p.m. This will be a great family event and we anticipate a large crowd so please arrive early to get a good spot!

Lastly, the District’s Board of Directors will host a park dedication ceremony for the District’s newest park. Cherry Blossom Park is a 2.75 acre neighborhood park located in the Elverta Park subdivision 2850 Elverta Road, Antelope. While the official dedication date has yet to be determined, we anticipate the park opening, as well as the dedication ceremony, to take place sometime in late April or early May 2019. Check the District’s website or contact the District office in early April for more information regarding the park opening and dedication.
