Are you looking for that special place to host a birthday party, family reunion or company picnic? Freedom Community park is an excellent location for special events. Covered picnic shelters, play area, restrooms, BBQ pits and plenty of space to play is what you will find at this easily accessible location.

A park reservation is required for groups larger than 50 but is still recommended for smaller groups if you want a picnic site on a specific date. A picnic site reservation entitles you to one of our four sites and access to restrooms.

Whatever your needs may be, NHRPD has a site for you at Freedom Community Park.

Freedom Community Park as four sites that can be reserved:

Stealth
This site will accommodate up to 200 people and features a covered shade structure, 13 picnic tables with benches, 4 BBQ pits and 5 food preparation tables.
Rental Fee: $100.00 per day (Rental Fee includes access to restrooms)

Apollo
This site will accommodate up to 75 people and features mature shade trees, 6 picnic tables and 4 BBQ pits.
Rental Fee: $50.00 per day (Rental Fee includes access to restrooms)

Blackhawk
This site will accommodate up to 150 people and features a shade structure, 10 picnic tables with benches, 2 BBQ pits and 2 food preparation tables.
Rental Fee: $100.00 per day (Rental Fee includes access to restrooms)

Falcon
This site will accommodate up to 50 people and features mature shade trees, 6 picnic tables and benches and 4 BBQ pits.
Rental Fee: $50.00 per day (Rental Fee includes access to restrooms)

Group Picnic Services Amenities

Let the friendly staff of North Highlands Recreation and Park District assist you with your picnic plans. Need charcoal, ice, sodas, water or sports equipment? We can help!

For a small service charge our picnic coordinator can provide you (on the day of your event) the following items:

Sports Equipment Bag

Bag includes: 2 softballs, running bases and bats, 2 footballs, 4 Frisbee discs, 2 basketballs, 2 soccer balls and one horseshoe set.

Rental Fee: $25.00 w/ $100.00 refundable security deposit.

Grass Volleyball Equipment Bag

Bag includes: 1 grass volleyball net & stakes

2 volleyballs

Rental Fee: $25.00 w/$100.00 refundable security deposit.

Picnic Supplies

Soda: $12.00 per case (Coke, Seven-Up, Rootbeer and Orange Soda)

Bottled Water: $9.00 per case (16 ounce bottles)

Ice Tub and Ice: $5.00 for 20lbs of ice

Charcoal: $6.00 for 24lb bag
