Message from District Administrator Kay Dahill –

One Year Anniversary of the New Freedom Park!

It is hard to believe it has already been a year since Freedom Park re-opened for the use and enjoyment of North Highlands residents. This nine acre park, located at Freedom Park Drive and Dudley Boulevard, features three shaded picnic areas, multiple barbecue pits, two age appropriate playgrounds, an outdoor basketball court, restrooms and parking for up to 60 vehicles. Other amenities include a butterfly garden, horseshoe pits and plenty of open green space for your enjoyment. But that is not all. Plans for improving Freedom Park include a new Splash Pad, a climbing wall and even more covered picnic space. In addition, special events such as concerts in the park and other celebrations are planned for 2010.The park can be reserved for a variety of uses, including birthday parties, picnics, class or family reunions, informal get-togethers, company picnics and special events. It is also a great place for kids and families to drop in and play. Freedom Park is a wonderful addition to the community of North Highlands and has given our residents a real sense of community pride.
